Akut Cabaret

Listening to: Hollow Talk by: Choir of Young Believers

This weekend I went to see my good friend perform in a cabaret show. She warned me in advance that the show will be all in Danish but I was fine with it and love the experience. How many times do you get to see a Danish cabaret show??? I think I would be disappointed if it was in English. Just like I hate going to an Irish pub and not one person there is Irish. Sort of takes away from the whole atmosphere. The theme of the cabaret is the financial crisis. I really enjoyed the songs and each performer was soo talent. They each had beautiful voices. It was also my first time seeing my friend perform. I was soo proud of her and was very impressed too. The play lasted for about 2 hours. I hope to see it again before it ends.

Beautiful Baby

Listening to: Trial of the Century by: French Kicks

I have been babysitting my friend's 6 month old little girl and I absolutely love her. She has a great personality and is always happy. How could I say no to babysitting a baby like that. Did I mention she is one of the most beautiful babies I have seen in a long time. They came to visit me this week as well and it was such a nice treat to have them. Later on the day the weather turned ugly and thunderstorms came through. I absolutely love thunderstorms and this one was great because I got to sit out on the balcony to watch it. I am very happy that I didn't get caught on my bike as I saw soo many people that did who were passing.

Breakfast Denmark style

Listening to: Rise by: CALLA

Well after I got up literally at the break of dawn I was invited to a breakfast at 10am. It was a great opportunity to hang out with two great friends of mine who I hung out with in NYC over a year ago and they even ended up going to Thanksgiving dinner with me at that time. I always enjoy seeing them because we can be proper music snobs together. :) This breakfast was certainly special because it lasted until about 3pm. I love how everything goes on here for more than an hour especially eating. We had a simple breakfast of fresh rolls out of the oven, cheese, spread and some Danish pastries. After we ate most of that we then went to the backyard to get some sun and drink a bottle of white wine. What a perfect day!

Sunrise

Listening to: Modern Romance by: Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I decided that since the weather has been quite pleasant to wake up one morning and take photos of the sunrise at the lakes. Of course this means getting up earlier than I normally would if I was in NYC trying to obtain the same thing. Sunrise here is about 4:30am. Sunset is around 9:30pm. The days are a bit longer now than in NYC. Those sort of hours usually don't happen until mid summer. I made sure the weather wasn't going to be cloudy at that time either. I woke up around 3:30am just to wake myself up and get my camera and tripod ready. I really love waking up early in the morning. Everything is calm and quiet and you really get to appreciate where you are. I got to watch the wildlife wake up that morning along with the city of Copenhagen. It was a very special morning in a very special place.

Canal Tour

Listening to: Fade Into You by: Mazzy Star

I was offered a tour of CPH and the first thing that was on the list to do was a tour of the canals. The day was just perfect, no rain for a change. I took tons of photos and very pleased with how they turned out. I even got to check out where the royals live. The royal courtyard was beautiful. There are also some pictures of the Little Mermaid and the royal ship. I couldn't believe how big the ships are they come through those canals. The pictures will tell all.
